"While I was in Delta Phi Epsilon, our president (a white woman) filmed herself driving past an MLK parade yelling "white power". She was very quietly let go from her position, there was no formal statement made, which is especially heinous because of the proportionately large number of Black and brown women who are members of DPhiE. Additionally, the dress codes we were expected to adhere to were 100% racially coded, and even as a white woman, the body policing I experienced always made me feel like I had to adhere to the "white sorority girl" aesthetic, so I can't imagine what it was like for the women of color who were my sorority sisters."
